About this Tour

This tour can be enjoyed all year round. December to March is known as the “Green Season” in Madikwe Game Reserve, and although there is a chance of occasional scattered thundershowers, it is a breathtakingly beautiful time of the year to visit. This is also the main birding season where migratory species can be seen, so a great period for avid bird watchers, and a multitude of baby animals can also be spotted. Cape Town’s main rainy season is opposite to the other two destinations – June to August is usually the wettest and coldest time of the year, but what could be better than enjoying an incredible meal in front of a warm and cosy fireplace?

All locations on this tour are malaria-free.

Madikwe Game Reserve is home to all of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, black rhinoceros, African bush elephant, and the African buffalo) and most of Africa’s top game species. The lodge offers incredible safari experiences, and the Game Reserve also has a very successful breeding program for the endangered Wild Dog.

With the exception of Kosher or Halal requirements, most properties can cater for all dietary preferences; however, advance notice is recommended.
